Description
The 50 round drum magazine (Gurttrommel 34) was designed to use with the MG34/42 machine guns, it held fifty linked 7.92 mm rounds easily attached to the weapon, these were designed so that the user had more mobility and did not have the downside of a long and heavy belt of ammunition dangling from the weapon. This example has great paint remaining, no damage or repairs and the top of the lid is maker marked with the code (ddf) this indicates production by Lohmann-Werke, A.-G., Bielefeld. There is no production year marking but production likely dates from 1943-1944. Great example for a combat display!
