Fresh find while on my latest trip to Germany was this early period 8 Year Polizei (Police) Long Service Medal. Early produced medal in tombac material with an uncleansed layer of patina, the front side has the police insignia; the reverse side has a number 8 surrounded by the inscription Für treue Dienste in der Polizeiin raised lettering. The award is still attached to the cornflower blue ribbon bar for wear.
