Amazing untouched example of a 1939 Iron Cross 1st Class (EK1.) This “L/11” Deumer is a nice maker marked cross, with a great look. The core retains nearly all of the original black enamel painted finish. There is an uncleaned patina, with some old dust with no rust. The frame has gorgeous toning, with an appealing, untouched look. The reverse of this cross is flat and smooth, with a pleasant untouched patina. The LDO number “L/11” is stamped under the catch, identifying the maker of this cross as the firm of Wilhelm Deumer in Lüdenscheid. The hardware on this cross is typical for this maker, with a banjo pin, and soldered hinge and catch. The attachment hardware is intact and functional, with no damage or repairs. This is a great untouched example of a EK1 by “L/11” Deumer, in excellent condition.
