Description

Overall this cap has an amazing appearance with a fantastic field worn look. The inside shows a clear makers mark as well as the very early date of 1938, making this one of the first few produced caps of the Third Reich. . The outside shows virtually no fading from being in the element/sun, with only light wear on the inside lining. This cap is produced in early period high quality wool, the font of the cap has the original sewn insignia consisting of an early gray cockard, light green piping with the underlining material faintly popping through, indicating service in a Jäger regiment (Jäger, GebirgsJäger, SkiJäger), and an absolutely wonderful early gray/tan hand stitched national eagle.  This cap truly has everything one could want in a piece of Third Reich headgear. Many of these caps would be heavily modified or even replaced for a new modern example. Finding an untouched example let alone one with the uncommon light green piping does not happen often!
