Description

During the war U.S. veterans would mix and match different pieces of insignia as they saw fit with their war trophies. This piece was recently found in a large hoard of insignia brought home that I pulled directly from the woodwork. The base of this set is a simple shoulderboard as worn by a member of the Bavaria Landespolizei, the board has a rare early 1st pattern Heer (Army) gold eagle as worn on the visors of Generals, the eagle has a beautiful tone with polished highlights and was made of the highest quality. I did not want to take this set apart as it is how I pulled it from the group of items the veteran brought home, why this was done I am not sure but regardless it displays great and the cap eagle itself is very rare.

Note – One of the cap eagle prongs are missing, more than likely broken off when removed from the cap.
