Description
The swastika bears the year 1925, this was intended for issue to long-time NSDAP members who had played important roles in the early Kampfzeit days of the Nazi Party. The medal retains its original finish and has beautiful uncleansed age toning. The construction and hardware setup on this one are textbook, with a doubled wire pin and tight rivets. There are no repairs, the pin and catch are functional. Reverse is maker marked “R. Wachtler & Lange Mittweide” and has their maker mark on the reverse, with the silver content mark as well. Typically these badges are found in enamel or with the painted front like the one shown, the painted examples are far more uncommon when compared to the enamel versions, this example has perfect paint finish remaining with the correct age cracking seen on originals. These early NSDAP badges are very sought after, when compared to most Third Reich awards, rare is an understatement when describing an untouched example like the one shown, textbook example with no flaws!
