Description
Army/Waffen-SS honor roll clasp by Otto Klein, Hanau. Tombak constructed wreath with soldered in massive swastika. Soldered on prongs. Unmarked, but typical Klein design. Excellent condition with polished bow. No repairs, no damage and the clasp has the correct, full length, matching orange long style ribbon. Textbook clasp that would be very hard to upgrade!
Note – The award criteria for the Army Honor Clasp did not differ from the Luftwaffe and Kriegsmarine clasp, namely to perform an act of bravery above and beyond the call of duty, but one which did not merit recommendation for the Knights Cross or German Cross. It’s awarding was at the discretion of the German High Command. It was however awarded very sparingly, and so did retain a high level of prestige and honor.
