Description
The ‘Kreta’ cufftitle was introduced on October 16th 1942 and held the status of a campaign award since the cufftitle was considered a military combat decoration for Fallschirmjagers, Wehrmacht Gebirgsjägers and Luftwaffe aircrews which fought on “Kreta”, it was awarded with a corresponding award document). The cufftitle was to be worn on the right lower arm (except greatcoats). The cufftitle is in a full-length condition and measures approximately 42cms in length. The cufftitle is made of a white cotton background and features the in yellow/gold thread machine embroidered script: ‘Kreta’, flanked by Acanthus leaves. There is some minor light patina caused by years of storage, the backside is also RBnr marked Reichsbetriebsnummer. Nice original example in good unissued condition!
