Description

The Italian Model 1891 bayonet was made for the 1891 6.5mm Mannlicher-Carcano rifle which was used by Italian forces in both WWI and WWII. This example was recently picked up in the U.S and was brought back with other edged weapons by a U.S Army veteran. The blade has no damage, near perfect finish and has never been sharpened. Near the hilt of the blade we see the manufacturing mark C. GNUTTI, while the leather scabbard shows the manufacturing stamp for Sam Bosco and the year of manufacture of 1938. The brass-fitted leather scabbard has held up quite well, and still has a good deal of the original finish. The stitching is intact, and the throat is still tight on the blade. I have had several of these bayonets and this is one of the nicest examples I have ever owned.
