Description

German WWII Heer (Army) winter fur cap in the size of 58. The body made of field grey wool with rabbit fur trim pull down ear and neck covering with a quilted rayon lining. The cap is marked on the inside of the lining though it is hard to make out. The cap has the original aluminum Army national eagle affixed to the front being held in with three prongs. Very nice example!

Note – After the catastrophic winter of 1941-42 on the Eastern Front, the German military rapidly designed improved cold weather clothing. By the Fall of 1942, a variety of fur lined caps had been introduced. There were no “model numbers”, but this is the most commonly encountered pattern.
