Description
This Tiger produced example of a 2nd Model Luftwaffe dagger is in very fine condition throughout. It is equipped with WKC type mounts, these mounts are identical to the types shown in Thomas Wittmans Luftwaffe Dagger reference book on page 142 and also page 150. The grip is undamaged and tight to the blade, the scabbard has no dents and has a nice matching layer of patina. The blade shows age, but is uncleansed and shows a nice amount of original cross graining remaining, near the cross guard on the blade shows the Tiger motif indicating production by the sought after firm of Tigerwerk Lauterjung & Co., of Solingen. This is a much more uncommon to find maker than most 2nd model Luftwaffe daggers encountered, overall a nice, solid piece!
