Description

This fantastic grouping was just recently picked up directly from the family of the soldier it belonged to. These items belonged to Clinton A. Telle #37635361 of St. Louis, Missouri. Clinton served in the 97th Infantry Division earning 2 battle stars for the European Theater of Operations from February 1945 until June 1945, after the Germans surrendered he would be refitted and sent in August 1945 for the Pacific Theater, arriving September 25th 1945 in Yokohama, Japan for occupation duty. The 97th were one of a very limited amount of U.S divisions who saw service in the European and Pacific theaters of operations during WWII.

This group has a little bit of everything, there are several WWII period manuals on speaking German and French, several photographs of Mt. Fuji in Japan, all of his original patches, ribbon bars, Combat Infantry Badge, as well as some German and Japanese bring backs. Overall this group could use more detailed research, but it displays fantastic none the less!
