Incrediable example of a very rare Heer (Army) visor for an Enlisted Man/NCO in the Panzergrenadiertruppen (Panzer Grenadier Troops). Made to Officer quality with bright aluminum insisignia that matches and has never been removed from the cap. The doe skin will is amazing quality that some of the nicest Officer visors are made from. The lime green piping is not a redyed infantry cap, this is the true period made lime green PzG piped visor. The inside lining shows a Luftwaffe distribution marking which is a nice touch. Any true PzG cap is rare, to find one of this quality is very rare, if you have been waiting for the best example to hit the open market in years, this is it. I really can not stress how rare this visor is, a truly top piece for any collection! You will find 500 pink Panzer visors for every 1 true Panzer Grenadier example.
Note – This cap has matching Wiesengrün (Lime Green) piping along the top edge and flanking either side of the band, the Corps Color (Waffenfarbe) for the Heer (Army) Panzergrenadiertruppen (Panzer Grenadier Troops). These were motorized/ mechanized infantry troops and were legendary in the field. Originally called Schützen regiments, they had used the same Pink piping as the Panzer corps. Then in 1942 Infantry Regiments were renamed as Grenadier Regiments by Adolf H as a historical homage to Frederick the Great’s Army, and the Schützen were renamed Panzergrenadiers.
