Description
A very rare buckle to find in this great of condition! Amazing early unmarked ‘Neusilber’ (Nickle-Silver) SS belt buckle worn by Enlisted Men/NCO’s referred to as the “Cracked Wing” can be identified through the deep scratch looking crack in the upper left wing and head of the eagle. These buckles are unmarked and it is unclear who made these exactly but it is generally known as the cracked wing variant.
Note the elongated line running from left to right; this is a crack in the buckle that goes straight trough the material. This damage occurred to all of the buckles of this type and most probably occurred due to the die being worn down. Very sought after and uncommon SS buckle!
