Description

Very nice example fresh out the woodwork of a Schutzpolizei or (Protection Police) field/combat tunic as introduced in July 1936. The field blouse features a standard (police) eight button front closure with a double metal hook/eyelet on the neck. The tunic has two pleated patch breast pockets and two non-pleated patch hip pockets, slip on shoulder boards for the rank of Wachtmeister “Sergeant.” The Green Police eagle with no town or area and green Police collar tabs are period sewn to the uniform. The tunic is free from moth holes or tears or nicks, and is nicely marked on the inside for the maker Rudolf Bartunek – Triesch with the date of 1942 as well. The nice large size would fit perfectly on a mannequin display!

Ordnungspolizei (Orpo) ranks were based on local police titles and were considered a separate system from the ranks of the SS. It was also possible for Orpo members to hold dual status in both the Orpo and the SS. This type of tunic was worn by members of the infamous Einsatzgruppen troops as well as Police Officers absorbed into the military. Great example of an untouched Third Reich uniform.
