Description

The first Parachute badge was designed during World War II by Captain (later Lieutenant General) William P. Yarborough of the 501st Parachute Battalion. These wings were awarded to soldiers in the U.S Army Airborne once they completed their jump training.

This example is stellar with very sharp details and an uncleaned patina. The reverse hardware is undamaged and the reverse is also marked “Sterling” as it is produced out of silver. The wing comes with the original card these would have been attached to while being sold. Fantastic unissued that is right as rain and World War 2 period.
