Description

In October 1943, the design was finally approved for what is known as “Holster, Pistol, Cal. .45, M3 (Shoulder-Leather)” – or simply “M3” for short. Initially, they were only approved for issue to “Flyers” in the Air Corps, but later on they would become popular amongst tank crews, as well as paratroopers. These would be produced by Enger-Kress, Sears Saddle Company, and Boyt Harness Company. All were to be embossed with “US” in an oval on the front. This example is textbook in every way and has no damage or repairs, the leather is very supple. The reverse shows the makers mark for the Enger-Kress Co., as well as US acceptance stamp. Great example ready for your pistol or even mannequin display!
