Description

Here is a wonderful example of U.S. Army WWI helmet as worn by a man in the 140th Infantry Regiment, in the 35th Infantry Division. Though the helmet had lost most of the leather liner, the helmets exterior is incredibly nice with a period paint job, the soldier rubbed the paint in areas putting his Army Serial Number, “140th Infantry Regiment, 35th Infantry Division, AEF.” This helmet displays great and is very rare in regards of WWI painted helmets.

Note – During World War I, the 140th Infantry was part of the 70th Infantry Brigade of the 35th Division, serving with the American Expeditionary Forces in France. The regiment trained at Camp Doniphan, Oklahoma, and participated in key offensives, including the Meuse-Argonne Offensive, Saint-Mihiel, and campaigns in the Vosges Mountains
