This is a very cool set that I picked up directly from the Veterans family while out picking this year. Originally I thought I bought just his jacket, later on I discovered the photograph inside the front pocket as well as his dog tag attached to the pockets button tucked inside. The amazing feature is this M-1943 Field Jacket is being worn in the photo, the photo shows clear view of his 88th Infantry Division helmet as well. After some digging by a good friend, I found Cpl. Robert F. Duerr, he was a member of the 88th Infantry Division in the 319th Infantry Regiment. During his 3 campaigns with the 88th he would earn the Bronze Star with Valor “V” device. He would survive the war and do occupation duty in Italy until 1947, later signing back up for Korean active duty. Very rarely do I come across items with photographs of them in wear, overall a killer piece to and true combat Infantryman.
