When it comes down to headgear and uniforms from the Third Reich period, the pre war items are always very hard to find, as most were modified as the war went on. This example of an early factory made pre war M34 Field Cap is textbook in everyway. Showing light wear with no major holes, damage, or repairs. The front shows the period applied early grey/white eagle and cockade, with the white soutache braid which indicates service in an Infantry division. The inside of the cap shows a period name tag with the original soldiers name, as well as his division and regimental information, this soldier was attached to a Machine Gun battalion. If this cap could talk it would have one heck of a story. Amazing, textbook cap that would be a perfect addition for any collection!
