Description
Early nickel belt buckle for SS-VT, SS-TV, and Allgemeine-SS. This variation is known as the Cracked Wing. No markings which is normal for this type, the buckle is in excellent, slight-worn condition and has a pleasant patina. Very rare buckle with some very sharp detail, would be very hard to find a better example!
Note – The early SS “cracked wing buckle” is a rare, early model of an enlisted personnel/NCO belt buckle, named for a distinct die flaw. The “crack” appears on the upper left wing and head of the eagle on the buckle’s design and is present on all examples of this specific variation.
