Description
Very nice example of a rare maker to find in regards to early SA/NSKK daggers. This early piece consists of early nickel fittings and a wonderful, tight red wood grip with no damage. The blade shows some grey patina spots but overall has no damage or sharpening, and the tip comes to a needle point. The motto shows a nice etch with most of the light grey filled finish remaining. The reverse shows the makers mark of (Wilhelm Hoppe & Co., Stahlwarenfabrik), this firm rates 8/10 in regards to rarity, this maker rarely pops up as they made roughly 1000 of these daggers during the war. The scabbard is an added treat as it is a black anodized example as used by the SS on their early daggers, indicating this would’ve been for a member of the NSKK. A fantastic example of a very rare early dagger!
