Very nice and worn M43 cap for a Heer (Army) EM/NCO. Mid war product constructed of later issue quality field grey wool, with lining of produced in olive colored rayon lining with makers mark and the faded date of 1944. The size marking is faint, but looks to be size 56. The cap has two steel pebbled buttons to the front, and a factory machine sewn eagle/rosette insignia sewn to the cap’s front. Very cool addition of using a T shaped eagle over the common triangular shaped ones. The cap shows significant wear to the wool as most of the nap is gone, but there are bad tears or repairs. The top has a few small pin holes making this a great looking example with clear signs of being worn in the field!
