Description

Instituted on July 4th, 1940 by Dr. Erich Raeder. Constructed of early tombac material with a gold gilded gold oak leaf wreath with a German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika at the top, depicting a side-view of a destroyer cutting through a wave, with the bow of the ship extending over the wreath, the reverse presents plain with a centered catch for stabilization and horizontal banjo-style pin, marked on the reverse with “f.o.” denoting maker Friedrich Orth of Vienna. These early awards are becoming more and more popular, like the Luftwaffe (Air Force) awards, these Kriegsmarine (Naval) examples are made of the highest qualities. This example is textbook in everyway with nor repairs what so ever.
