DAF (German Labor Front) Flag Pole Topper

$550.00

Description

Great example of a DAF pole top used for flags and standards of the Deutsche Arbeitsfront, the National Socialist trade union organization. This is a 2nd pattern DAF pole top – the Second pattern was slightly larger and typically made from zinc, this example is made of cast aluminum (much more uncommon than zinc.) The pole socket is manufacturer marked with the RZM logo and “M3/34/35,” a maker who also made other types of Third Reich pole tops. This DAF pole top has a very striking design with a large swastika within a toothed wheel, the emblem of the DAF.  An impressive item and rare to find as a 2nd pattern in aluminum.

Note – The Germany Labor Front (DAF) was the Nazi organization that took over for all of the country’s worker controller Trade Unions.  Under the DAF membership was mandatory, strikes were illegal and there was no collective bargaining.  The dues paid by the workers was effectively part of the Nazi slush fund.
