When it comes to insignia, the items that were crudely removed in the field often refereed to as “cut-off’s” are the most popular. This example of a Heer (Army) cap trapezoid was worn on an M43 cap by an EM/NCO. Machine sewn to the front of the cap, this trap was cut off leaving a large chunk of the cap material attached.
